Okay, so I start using ForgeHub.com to post some of my forge maps on. I posted two and no problem. Then I post a remake of Cold Storage (I named it SHIVER) and this kid “Legit Poptart” (Gamertag: So Freeeeeeeesh) starts putting my map down saying his was better. He had put out two versions of this map prior to mine. Hey, it’s anybody’s game. Many people had already made remakes, so I thought I’d give it a go. Well I really pissed this kid off. Later that day he puts out version 3 of his Cold Storage. I figured I made him so mad he tried to fix all the mistakes from his remake. Well I download to have a look and realize this kid downloaded my map, made some aesthetic changes, saved it as a new file and claimed he spent his whole day fixing his previous two versions!!! I was so pissed that I got in trouble on ForgeHub for bashing this guy for what he did and bashing his own maps. That was a mistake. ForgeHub takes forum rule violations pretty serious…

Hopefully this guy Nibs will take care of this thief and ban him from ForgeHub for good. He apparently is looking at this case for me. They locked both of our threads until the matter is resolved. Since I really can’t plead my case to these guys unless I can show them some proof, I decided to post a blog entry with the evidence I gathered.

Exhibit A: My map Shiver (Cold Storage) was made on February 25 and his map Cold Storage v3 Absolute was made on February 27. This establishes that my file was made before his.

Exhibit B: I noticed a mistake in one of my screenshots after I posted my map to ForgeHub. I colored almost every object blue with the exception of a few pieces where the color doesn’t matter or show up. A ramp I used for a wall was left default blue and I forgot to change it. See below. Notice the glass wall in the background. It also looks identical to mine.

Exhibit C: Upon looking at my map I realized I left a piece out of place in the small hallway near the rocket spawn. I had moved it to get out of the map to adjust something outside of the map. I forgot to put it back. Guess what? That same piece was out of place on his map and his little hallway looked exactly like mine. See below.

Exhibit D: The placement of the map in Forge World is identical. See below.

Exhibit E: The spawn points and the objective items are identical. See below.

Okay, so you get my point. The list goes on and on. While this is all very trivial in the grand scheme of life, its important not to let people get away with stuff you know is wrong. Especially when its against you. I’m not talking about vigilante justice, I’m talking about authorities holding people responsible for their actions. So, what do you think?

First of all I would like to say that I think your work is awesome the maps and graphics are pro work. I would like to use some of your halo medals wallpaper as a background to my website I’m working on and I would like to link your site to it for halo headhunters. Also I will try to link up with halocharts and halotracker as a part of this website. Thank you for your time keep up the good work.
